Teaching Assistant Other
Curriculum and Instruction , Teaching Assistant (12-month position) Teaching Assistants work under the guidance of graduate faculty members and departmental administrators and staff, responding to student assignments and other communications and viewing and providing feedback to video of students during a semester-long practicum and a semester-long internship in elementary school classrooms. Teaching Assistants are expected to respond to student work during courses offered in June and July while completing training for online supervision of field experiences. During the fall semester, Teaching Assistants respond to student work in two major methods courses while doing distance supervision of a 60-hour practicum placement. During a December/January Intersession course, Teaching Assistants respond to student work, and during the Spring semester, Teaching Assistants conduct distance supervision of the formal student teaching experience while and responding to student work in an Action Research course.
