Major efforts will target limited resource families with young children, and programming topics will consist primarily of: food preparation, nutrition, food safety, food resource management, household food security and physical activity.

Lead an active and innovative extension educational program in crops, soils, weeds, forage, and rangelands in Southwest Kansas. Support county and district-level extension programs. Develop an applied research program that complements and informs the extension program. Manage the crop performance testing program at SWREC. The overall program should be responsive to the dynamic challenges of crop production in Southwest Kansas and integrate with other subject matter disciplines at the regional and state level. Scholarship of extension includes communication with clientele via public meetings/conferences, web sites, and electronic means; developing traditional extension publications and bulletins; and interacting and sharing ideas with other extension and research colleagues. Applied research scholarship includes securing grants and publishing in peer-reviewed scientific publications. Service expectations include participation in appropriate professional organizations and on departmental/college committees.
