| Extension agents are professional educators, community connectors and innovators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas. The Sunflower Extension District consists of Cheyenne, Sherman, and Wallace counties in northwest Kansas. Three agents, three office professionals, and a multi-county agronomist serve the district’s combined population of just over 10,000 people.This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources. Programming topics may include but are not limited to: livestock production; agricultural economics, management, and public policy; horticultural production and management; and natural resources conservation and environmental stewardship.

| Extension agents are professional educators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas. Lyon County is situated on the eastern side of the Flint Hills, with Emporia as its county seat. This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive 4-H youth development program for school-aged youth in cooperation with local community members and extension colleagues. Programming will include but is not limited to: community club support, out-of-school programs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and outreach to create program opportunities with new and existing community partners. There are currently eight community 4-H clubs in Lyon County with approximately 300 members as well as an established Cloverbud program. |
