This is a position is part of the project “Assessing the Influence of Zero-Deforestation Supply-Chain Commitments on the Conservation of Ecosystems” (NSF grant 1739253) led at K-State by co-PI Nelson B. Villoria. Main responsibilities include: (1) Modeling the indirect land use effects of voluntary zero-deforestation commitments undertaken by private companies in the soy, oil palm, and cattle sectors in South America and Southeast Asia; (2) Working with a multidisciplinary team of researchers to couple a computable general equilibrium model with a high-resolution land use model to consistently track land use change across scales.
