General Description of Position:

Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Instructor with a strong interest in teaching undergraduate architectural engineering and construction management related courses, with a focus in one or more of the areas of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems design, in an effort to enhance and promote undergraduate education.

Job Description:

The position is primarily teaching, however the candidate will be expected to pursue scholarly activity and service through integration and application of current and emerging technologies and practices.  Candidate will participate in student advising, student recruitment, student organizations, student competitions, and departmental development and promotion. As an Assistant Professor or above the Candidate will work with ARE graduate students pursuing a MS or BS/MS degree.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated relevant professional experience as an Engineer in North America, focused on mechanical, electrical and plumbing building systems design.  Have a current professional engineering registration as a PE or PENG. Five or more years of relevant professional experience in the construction industry in North America. Demonstrated involvement with applied use of construction documents and processes.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate teaching experience.  Demonstrated ability to integrate project work across multiple areas of building/infrastructure construction.

Candidate must have a Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, or other relevant Engineering program.  A relevant Bachelor degree, along with industry experience, may be considered for the instructor level.  If appointed at the instructor level, the successful candidate will be required to obtain an approved graduate degree within an agreed time frame to be eligible for a possible full-time, tenure-track position.
