General Description of Position: Kansas State University, Division of Financial Services, is seeking applicants for an Accounting Specialist position in the Cashiers and Student Accounts section.  This position is vital to the management of the Third Party Billing Systems for the Manhattan and Salina campuses.

Job Description: This position is essential to providing effective customer service to students and the campus. Duties include posting adjustments to the university cashiering system, student sponsorship transactions, student deferment processing, and correspondence preparation. Employee will work with students, staff, university departmental employees and third party sponsors. 
Required Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in accounting/auditing support work.  Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post High School bookkeeping or accounting classes

  • Experience with MS Word software

  • Ability to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately

  • Ability to detect and reconcile discrepancies in financial data; understand and explain financial data
