|General Description of Position:
||The Director of Beef Value Chain Alliances leads initiatives of Beef Cattle Institute (BCI) in downstream beef value chain engagement. The director will work with BCI leadership to establish goals and strategies for engagement with beef industry value chain participants post farm gate. The director will be responsible for designing and managing multiple projects including: defining timelines, determining and managing budgets, and managing resources to complete projects within defined time period. The director will work with beef industry organizations such as US Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, NCBA, NAMI, and retail and food service organizations; beef packers and processors; food service companies; and retailers to establish working relationships. The director serves to connect BCI with downstream beef industry participants to identify research, education, outreach, service, and leadership engagement as well as partnering opportunities between BCI and beef industry affiliates.

||This position will manage alliance development with Beef Cattle Institute and all phases of the beef value chain. The director will be responsible for designing individual projects including defining timelines, creating budgets, and determining deliverable outcomes from each project. Additionally, the director will be responsible for insuring milestones are met, managing the budget during project in-life phase, and allocating resources as appropriate to achieve project objectives. The person will manage multiple projects with teams of people and will be responsible for maintaining communication and fiscal management. The director will also work with external beef industry organizations such as US Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, National Cattlemen's Beef Association, North American Meat Institute, Kansas Department of Agriculture, retail and food service organizations, beef packers and processors and food service companies. The BCI director of beef value chain alliances will work to connect BCI with beef industry participants. This position will Work with BCI and collaborative faculty to engage KSU team with beef industry as well as assist BCI team in completing project goals associated with research and outreach programs including big data analytics, project management, and logistics coordination.
|Required Minimum Qualifications:
||Bachelor's degree and five years relevant experience
||Skills and knowledge related to a basic understanding of beef cattle production and associated technology, basic meat science background, understanding of economics, and have experience in post-farm gate beef production, processing or marketing.
Masters or MBA in relevant field
