|General Description of Position:
||The Department of Anatomy and Physiology (A&P), College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University invites applications for the position of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. This is a tenure track, full-time, 12-month position with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications. The successful candidate will be expected to apply modern computational and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modeling solutions to problems in comparative pharmacology, chemical food safety, and/or antimicrobial resistance. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching pharmacology courses to professional veterinary and graduate students and to mentor graduate students in an area of the candidate’s expertise.
|Information about the Department:
||We are a multi-disciplinary department with responsibilities in instruction, research and continuing education in the disciplines of gross and microscopic anatomy, cell and systemic physiology, pharmacology, and neuroscience. Research in the Institute of Computational Comparative Medicine (ICCM) (http://iccm.k-state.edu/) is interdisciplinary and focused on developing novel approaches to extrapolate drug, chemical and/or nanomaterial behavior from in vitro to in vivo systems and across species, with particular emphasis on domestic animals.

||The successful candidate will maintain a dynamic, extramurally funded research program focused on pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) mathematical modeling. The incumbent will also teach pharmacology courses to professional veterinary and graduate students and mentor graduate students in an area of candidate’s expertise. As part of their duties, this individual will be expected to establish collaborations with researchers affiliated with the Institute of Computational Comparative Medicine (ICCM) (http://iccm.k-state.edu/) and the collocated, USDA supported, Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (FARAD) to develop and implement novel approaches and techniques to advance our understanding of PK-PD interactions, drug residue depletion and antimicrobial resistance in food animals.
|Required Minimum Qualifications:
||Assistant Professor: DVM (or equivalent) with relevant research experience and post-graduate training (MS or PhD) in clinical pharmacology and mathematical modeling.
Associate Professor or Professor: DVM (or equivalent) with relevant research experience and post-graduate training (MS or PhD) in clinical pharmacology and mathematical modeling. Teaching experience in pharmacology at the university level, and a record of extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications commensurate with tenure/rank at Kansas State University.
||Assistant Professor: Board certification in the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology (ACVCP) or the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (ECVPT); experience of teaching professional students, preferably veterinary pharmacology; demonstrated potential for successful extramural grant applications; and publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Experience with WinNonlin, NONMEM or equivalent software.
Associate Professor or Professor: Board certification in the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology (ACVCP) or the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (ECVPT); evidence of excellence in teaching and innovative approach to veterinary curriculum (please highlight these points in the curriculum vitae); current teaching experience in veterinary pharmacology; current extramural grant support for research; eminent record of publication in peer-reviewed high impact journals. Proficiency with WinNonlin or NONMEM or equivalent software.
