General Description of Position:

Kansas State University Olathe (http://olathe.k-state.edu) is seeking a part-time graphic designer to assist with creating a wide range of marketing communications materials. The successful candidate will work closely with the communications and marketing team to conceptualize and implement creative and professional designs for a range of materials. Projects may include recruiting materials, brochures, fliers, graphics for the web site and social media, and presentation support. The position will consist of working up to 16 hours (0.40 FT) on the K-State Olathe campus.

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Conceptualize and design a wide variety of print materials, including brochures, direct mail, fliers, templates and a range of pieces to support events.
  • Develop graphics for use on electronic platforms, including the K-State Olathe web site, social media and in presentations. This may include banners, infographics, icons and templates for presentations.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining the K-State Olathe web site. This includes revising current web pages and creating new pages to support programs as directed.
  • Work closely with the Division of Communication and Marketing’s graphic design team to produce high quality designs within Kansas State University’s branding guide.
  • Participate with staff and stakeholders in brainstorming sessions that involve new projects or campaigns.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's Degree
  • Highly proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience as a graphic designer or similar position.
  • Strong editing skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge a plus.

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

Salary Range:  $36,674-$56,845. Salary commensurate with candidate's ability and experience.
