General Description of Position:

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position with exceptional potential in teaching and supervising pre-service teacher candidates in elementary mathematics methods. Responsibilities include: Collaborate with Professional Development School partners in the teacher preparation program; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education; advise graduate students in curriculum and instruction and engage in research and scholarship in mathematics education; collaborate with colleagues in the department, the College of Education, and STEM departments in the College of Arts and Sciences and across the university; and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession. This is a 9-month position beginning August 2018.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

    1.  Earned doctorate in education or mathematics with emphasis in                     mathematics education.

  1. Demonstrated successful mathematics teaching experience K-12 in an accredited school in the United States.
  2. Undergraduate degree in education, mathematics, or equivalent field.
  3. At least three years of teaching experience in an accredited school in the United States.
  4. Interest in and willingness to design and develop distance delivered graduate courses.
  5. Ability to integrate issues of technology into all courses.      
  6. Experience working collaboratively in diverse settings and populations.
  7. Potential and commitment to conduct and publish research.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. University teaching experience in a teacher education program with a field-based component.
  2. Successful mathematics teaching experience at the K-6 level in an accredited school in the United States.
  3. Experience with diverse populations.         

    4. Evidence of ability to obtain extramural funding.

    5. Evidence of professional service.

    6. Eligibility for Graduate Faculty status

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$60,000-$75,000
