General Description of Position:

The department seeks applicants with specializations in teaching linguistic and cultural anthropology and additional teaching interests that complement current faculty.  This is a one year teaching position starting August 2018 with strong possibility of renewal. Teaching responsibilities include six courses per academic year including Introduction to Linguistic Anthropology and other linguistic and cultural courses to be determined in consultation with the program.  At least one course per year will be delivered online.

 The anthropology program at Kansas State University is for undergraduates only and takes great pride in providing world-class undergraduate education in anthropology.  Students take an active role in the program through teaching and research assistantships and study abroad opportunities.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD or ABD in linguistic or cultural anthropology.  Documentation of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to teach online courses.  Ability to teach both linguistic and cultural anthropology courses. Record of mentoring and/or supervising undergraduate students.

4) sample syllabi of courses taught or prepared to teach.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

 $45,000/annually
