General Description of Position:

The full-time Office Specialist II position with Kansas State Polytechnic is responsible for accounting, record keeping, and budgetary items within the TRIO Student Support Services program.  Additional duties include maintaining a student database system, general office management, payroll, and supporting event/programming and recruitment. This is a benefits eligible position.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • One year of relevant experience.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have valid Driver's License upon employment and maintain it.
  • KSU Van Training Certificate within 6 months from date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of experience in office support/clerical work.
  • Experience/knowledge in working with: Microsoft Access (Student Access Database), FIS, PeopleSoft/HRIS/Microsoft Office (spreadsheets/word processing), General Ledger and E-forms. 
  • Experience/knowledge in accounting/record keeping, budget management, purchasing and inventory. 
  • Prefer some familiarity with the higher education setting and Polytechnic TRiO/Student Support Services.
  • Possess excellent oral/written communication and organization skills.
  • Have the ability to multi-task and work in a diverse office setting. 
  • Have strong attention to detail skills.

Pay Rate:

$12.63 – $18.95 per hour

Please note: the minimum salary for this position is $12.63 per hour. Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, internal equity and departmental funding. Salary offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. The range indicated includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.
