General Description of Position:

This Digital Assets Assistant (DAA) applies art knowledge and software skills to assist the museum’s curators, educators, and registrars in surveying digital assets that can be added to the collection database and into a cell phone app for use by visitors in the galleries. Quarterly goals will be set for new entries into both the website and phone application. He/she will also assist as needed with a digital humanities seminar.

The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art offers an in-depth look at Kansas art and brings art and artists from around the world to the heart of Kansas. The museum’s collection continues to focus on the art of Kansas and the region.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in history of art, American history, museum studies, information science, or other relevant field

Fluency with the following software: Photoshop, video and audio editing software

Basic photography experience

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in relevant field

Experience editing text, photographs, video, and audio

Digital publications experience

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$12-19 per hour
