About This Role:

This position resides in the Facilities Customer Service Center, supporting the Division and the University by efficiently responding to customer service requests in order to ensure that maintenance, repair, and departmental needs are met.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Receives daily customer service requests: by phone, in person, or via electronic service request or email.
  • Creates work orders based on customer information by inputting data into AiM, the automated maintenance management system.
  • Data input variables include: description of service required, appropriate billing information, property ownership, location and execution destination.
  • Create standing work orders for Facilities Departments and Operations.
  • Create work orders for asbestos survey / removal requests, dig safe tickets and fire code citations.
  • Contact shop supervisors for immediate response to emergency work orders by phone or radio.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of maintenance/construction trades, extensive knowledge of the AiM system, and working knowledge of accounting practices.
  • High school graduate or equivalent with business courses/training on personal computer operation.
  • Three years experience in clerical work/office support.
  • Two years experience in operation of data entry programs.
  • Sufficient dexterity to complete data entry tasks. 
  • Able to communicate with customers on the telephone, radio, or in-person.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
