About This Role:

Multiple term (non-tenure-track) instructors in expository and professional/technical writing for the Fall 2018 semester, with possible continuation into the Spring 2019 semester. Term instructors teach up to four 3-credit hour course sections per semester of expository and/or professional/technical writing on K-State's Manhattan campus.

Together, we serve students across the university, including 200 majors and minors in English and 45 M.A. students in English. Term instructors represent an important contribution to the Department's instructional team. We provide term instructors with opportunities for professional development and collaborative lesson-planning; we also provide them with office space with access to computers and other resources. What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • M.A. in English or related field.
  • At least two years of experience teaching at the college or university level.
  • Experience teaching introductory classes in writing at the college or university level.
  • Excellence in teaching writing, as demonstrated by successful course and lesson design, classroom delivery of course material, and assessment of student writing.
  • Commitment to diversity through pedagogy and course content.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in teaching professional/technical writing.
  • Expertise in teaching introductory literature courses.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$3,082 - $3,621 per course, according to course taught.
