Duties/

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as unit time and leave liaison, monitoring and inputting time and leave for approximately 60 USS and 250 hourly student staff using Kronos Workforce Timekeeping System.  Reviews electronic timecards on a daily basis for missed punches, shift differential and overtime.  Prepares student employment forms, assists with student scheduling, and maintains work schedules for USS.  Generates various time and labor costing reports and compiles reports as needed. 
  • Assists unit employees with various forms and on-line processes.  Responds to questions with accurate and timely information and demonstrates thoughtfulness, patience, and a genuine willingness to assist. 
  • Prepares invoices and reports for food sales and special events; prepares retail bakery and meal census reports.  Maintains all labor and meal data summaries.  Monitors census reports and advises management of inconsistencies.  Compiles reports related to guest meal and retail bakery sales and counts and verifies deposits.  Applies knowledge of CBORD meal software to retrieve accurate data for reports.
  • Serves as lead worker to other staff including part-time USS and hourly student office staff.  Oversees general office functions to include filing, mail, office equipment and supplies, key distribution, work flow. Provides training to ensure a high level of customer service. 
  • Responds to telephone and in-person customers, directs callers using multi-line telephone, maintains dining room schedules/reservations, inventories equipment, prepares various forms (temperature logs, production worksheets, order reports, etc.) and reports and distributes to management.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and completion of course work in office practices, computers and bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Two years clerical/general office experience including some bookkeeping and payroll.
  • Experience with word processing and spreadsheets
    Familiarity with electronic timekeeping system or human resource information systems.
  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively interpret department procedures and policies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Certification as a Notary Public upon employment
  • May occasionally be required to work for several hours on a week-end to facilitate and meet departmental payroll processing deadlnes.
