About This Role:

Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork and public relations skills needed to assess problems (triage) clients and take appropriate action. Triage includes the ability to clarify client needs, determine severity and urgency of concerns. Assigns appropriate professional service activity or personnel. This employee must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse population from within and outside of the university setting. In addition to triage, employee must effectively communicate policies, service changes or limits to services, in a way that is accurate, clear and "customer service" friendly; uses discretion, privacy, and extreme care in protecting the client privilege.

Office management skills needed. Ability to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and technical skills to accurately enter all client information in a counseling center software system highly desired. This position manages and organizes the electronic appointment schedule of daily and weekly clients on a continuous basis. Extensive computer skills needed to schedule appointments, maintain electronic files and compose correspondence.  This position deals daily with new, unusual, and complex work situations. Manages and organizes electronic appointment scheduler of daily and weekly clients for professional staff on a continuous basis. Schedules outside and in office meetings for all professional staff. Employee is responsible for scheduling room availability within the CS for all requested activities. Schedules and administers psychological and career tests at the request of professional staff and instructs client on testing process.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • This position requires a high school degree and one year work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer service in an office environment
  • Ability to work independently highly desired
  • Possess the skill to apply the principles of office management to the efficient operation of a professional office.
  • Typing skills necessary
  • Supervisory experience

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
