About This Role:

AOS: Moral philosophy.
AOC: Open, but the department has some preference for a candidate with teaching competence in medical ethics.

We seek a moral philosopher whose research program complements the department’s existing research strengths. Candidates with a demonstrated interest in inter-disciplinary work, especially work which is eligible for external funding, are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants who are ABD will be considered, but appointment as Assistant Professor will require that the Ph.D. be in hand before August 2019; otherwise the initial appointment will be as Instructor. Five undergraduate courses per year, standard service duties. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to and appreciation for teaching students from diverse, multi-cultural backgrounds.

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD or ABD in Philosophy or related field.
  • AOS: Moral philosophy.
