About This Role:

A Research Associate to perform research on energetic materials and co-crystals thereof.  The work includes synthesis and characterization of new materials, as well as the use of structural informatics and DFT to guide, analyze, and rationalize the experimental efforts.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree and two years of relevant experience. 
  • Two years relevant experience:
    • Synthesis and characterization of energetic materials.
    • Multi-nuclear NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance), DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), TGA (Thermal Gravimetric Analysis), and multi-step synthesis.
    • Capable of multi-step organic synthesis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Supramolecular chemistry or X-ray crystallography

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$44,150 - $77,250*

*Please note: the minimum salary for this position is $41,150 /annually. Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, education, internal equity and departmental funding.
