About This Role:

Kansas State Polytechnic seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty member in Composition/Rhetoric. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute actively to the College of Integrated Studies through an anticipated 80% teaching, 10% service, and 10% scholarship load. Areas of teaching emphasis may include, but are not limited to multiple sections of Expository Writing I and II, Digital Rhetoric, and/or Technical Writing.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD Composition/Rhetoric (ABD Candidates will be considered)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Evidence of successful teaching and learning in Higher Education
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary and multi-programmatic teams.
  • Evidence of research and publication potential

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with writing program development, writing center pedagogy, technical writing and/or digital rhetoric.
  • Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
  • Online teaching experience

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Applicants must meet accreditation credential requirements to teach college courses

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$50,000 - $80,000

Please note: the minimum salary for this position is $50,000. Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, internal equity and departmental funding. Salary offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. The range indicated includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.
