About This Role:

The Director of Facilities Custodial Services position will play a vital leadership role in the management and operations of the University. Providing executive leadership with an emphasis on customer service to campus units in accordance with the University’s strategic plan and the Campus Master Plan. Planning, organizing, directing and coordinating line, professional, and specialized staff comprised of more than 120 custodial, refuse, recycling, and pest control personnel. These staff members are responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the academic, research space, and office facilities, estimated at approximately 6.4M maintainable gross square feet (MGSF) of university campus properties. This position will also exercise financial control of an annual budget in excess of $6.5M, including operating funds composed of state and recharge funding.

  • Overseeing the management of all phases of custodial operation and maintenance
  • Overseeing the management of the solid waste removal and recycling program
  • Conducting job-specific training to maintain and encourage safety procedures
  • Overseeing the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, promotion, and disciplinary actions of staff
  • Responsible for budget development, execution, and purchasing

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and five to 10 years of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Personnel Administration, Labor Relations, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 10 or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in facilities services management, specifically related to Custodial and/or Building Maintenance in a large, complex organization
  • Managerial experience with personnel and administration
  • Experience in developing training programs for custodial and/or building maintenance
  • Customer service experience
  • Verbal and written communication skills

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Valid driver license with good driving record upon employment.
  • KSU Introduction to Supervision training completed during the initial probation period.

Salary Range:

$ 62,770-$100,440
