About This Role:

The director will take the lead in expanding the K-State Polytechnic campus’ presence in the growing markets of distance education, professional development, and customized educational programs by leading the development of online, hybrid, and other training programs to support the workforce needs of targeted markets.  The campus seeks an individual with a passion for learning and a strong background in promoting professional learning opportunities.  The director is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the department and the management of its fiscal and human resources.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or work equivalent
  • Five to ten years of relevant professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in financial management
  • Demonstrated ability to propose and encourage new ideas, gain support from an organization, and manage key risks and resources
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven record of organizational and administrative skills
  • Knowledge and experience with distance education trends and services
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an organization responsible for revenue generation
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution (adult education, distance education, communications, and marketing, etc.)
  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills in a diverse environment
  • Experience working with online educational programs
  • Demonstrated experience in both tactical and strategic planning and implementation
  • Professional experience in a self-funded department

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$47,476 - $75,940 depending upon qualifications

Please note: the minimum salary for this position is $47,476. Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, internal equity, and departmental funding. Salary offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. The range indicated includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.
