Laboratory Client Service Assistant (Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory) Manhattan, Kansas
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL) is seeking applicants for a Laboratory Client Services Assistant. This essential position within KSVDL exists to serve the needs of clientele/stakeholders (clients, faculty, residents, students, coworkers) in regards to communication, sample reception, and sample accessioning. This position may also be involved in special projects dealing with client oriented tasks pertaining to samples. This position may also assist with monitoring and maintaining inventory in the Client Services area. Some flexibility may be required regarding work hours at elected/occasional times.
Research Technologist Manhattan, Kansas
The purpose of this position is to provide operational support for research in a biosafety level 3 Ag facility including work with livestock infected with pathogenic agents. This individual will assist the supervisory Animal Health Officer with broad support and coordination of activities associated with infectious disease research and food safety and food security studies. Responsibilities include waste management, decontamination, adherence to animal welfare regulations, assisting research teams in project planning and operational logistics, and training research staff on procedures, protocols and equipment operation. Duties include report generation, database inputs and user interface, work with large animals (livestock) and small lab animals (rodents and rabbits) in BSL-3 and BSL-3Ag research projects, assisting with coordinating animal space use assisting with technical procedures involving animals as required for research projects., decontaminating spaces and equipment with specialized technologies, and removal and decontamination of waste via alkaline hydrolysis tissue digestion equipment and autoclave sterilization. Position also supports necessary coordination for unique biocontainment areas used in food safety and security studies.
Laboratory Client Service Assistant - Rabies (Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory) - PT Manhattan, Kansas
This position will provide customer service for the Rabies Laboratory through communications via email, fax, and phone with veterinarians, reference laboratories, medical doctors, pet owners, health departments and regulatory agencies, and maintain the quality system through corrective action reports and ensuring high customer relations.
