Office Specialist III (Biosecurity Research Institute) Manhattan, Kansas
The Office Specialist III is a limited term position that will contribute to ongoing research mission activities of the Biosecurity Research Institute by providing administrative support and performing detailed and critical duties to meet organizational and regulatory requirements. Public relations responsibilities include coordinating events, tours, and meetings with the public, governmental officials, and BRI staff. Perform administrative support activities and serve as a resource to the public and employees. Monitor activity at central security station while serving in a backup role to security officers. This is a limited term position.

The Department of Civil Engineering at Kansas State University seeks to fill one full time, 9-month term Teaching Assistant Professor position to teach civil engineering materials, engineering mechanics, and introductory civil engineering undergraduate classes and support existing projects involving research in infrastructure materials. Some departmental service, such as supervising graduate students, is also expected. A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required and must be obtained prior to the start of the Fall 2019 semester. Veterinary Nurse (Shelter Medicine) Manhattan, Kansas
The Department of Clinical Sciences and Veterinary Health Center are seeking applicants for a Veterinary Nurse to provide veterinary technical assistance and fourth year student instruction for the mobile spay/neuter trailer. The mobile surgical unit is a program that provides spay/neuter services and basic care for shelter animals maintained at facilities without a veterinarian or surgical facilities. The shelter medicine rotation is an elective course. Approximately 70 senior veterinary students will participate each year and approximately 4000 animals will be surgically altered. The shelter medicine technician is responsible for surgical preparation, anesthetic induction/monitoring, intra-operative assistance, and immediate post-operative care for shelter animals on location at regional facilities. This position is also responsible for coordination of activities with regional shelters, medical records, and oversight for stocking and cleaning of the mobile surgery unit.
Assistant Professor of Veterinary Entomology Manhattan, Kansas
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a program combining research and extension in Veterinary Entomology with emphasis on management of arthropod parasites and vectors affecting livestock. Strong basic and applied research components are expected to procure extramural support, publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and extension publications, and collaborate with preexisting research and extension programs in the Department, University, and USDA-Arthropod-Borne Animal Disease Research Unit. Teaching duties will include offering an undergraduate course in Animal Health Entomology every year, developing a graduate course (800-level) in an area of interest to the incumbent every other year, supervising graduate students and participating in institutional education and outreach activities. The percent FTE may change in accordance with the needs of the Department.

Assists with plant health care within the greenhouses of the Throckmorton Plant Complex through coordination and advice in arthropod pest scouting and management, disease management, plant nutrition, and environmental conditions. Coordinates health and safety compliance with greenhouse users.
