Budget/Fiscal Officer II Manhattan, Kansas
The College of Business is pleased to announce that we are seeking qualified candidates to serve as the Budget/Fiscal Officer II for the College. The Budget/Fiscal Officer II reports to the Associate Dean for Finance and HR and is responsible for managing the business affairs and human resource functions within the college. The position is responsible for preparing the annual budget and providing detailed reporting on the annual budget during the fiscal year. The position also oversees the business operations of four departments and two centers. This position will analyze, plan, develop, and present, practices to effectively improve efficiencies in the college business functions and integrate with university practices and systems. This position will serve as the college’s liaison to Human Capital Services and is responsible for managing the hiring process for the Dean’s Office and the Student Success Center. This position will provide input in the interpretation of policies and procedures in situations involving personnel issues. This position supports departmental specialists in the hiring process.
Pharmacy Technician (Veterinary Health Center) Manhattan, Kansas
The Veterinary Health Center within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Pharmacy Technician. This position is responsible for providing assistance with daily operations of the Kansas State University Veterinary Health Center Dispensary. A primary mission of the Veterinary Health Center is to provide medical services for teaching, research, and clients within the surrounding area. The Dispensary is critical to providing medications to support this mission.
Veterinary Nurse (Anesthesiology) Manhattan, Kansas
This position is responsible for providing nursing services to the Anesthesiology Section in the Veterinary Health Center. A primary mission of the Hospital is to provide quality medical services for teaching, research and clients within the surrounding area. Quality, professional nurse representation in the Anesthesia Section is critical to providing services to support this mission. Lastly, this position is responsible for coordination of animal treatments, instruct, train and supervise students and employees in approved treatment technique.
Animal Technician II Manhattan, Kansas
This position is milking, feeding and caring for dairy cows on a daily basis. Duties included are: setting up milking equipment, puts cows into the milking stalls, attaches milking equipment to the animals and milks the cows. This position will also sanitize equipment before and after each milking session. Check the compressor, milk line and pump, and make sure bulk storage tank is operating before, during and after each milking. Inspect feed bunks, seeping in feed and feeding hay when needed. Rake manure from free stalls and levels free stall surfaces each shift. Feeding replacement heifers, cleaning calf hutches, weighing calves, assisting with vaccinations, dehorning, castration, and clipping extra teets. Recognizing common health problems of the cows is essential, like mastitis. Then taking the correct treatment. Observing "heat" or estrus in also very important. Excellent communications skills with other faculty, graduate students, hourly students and staff.
Assistant Scientist Manhattan, Kansas
The Department of Agronomy at Kansas State University is seeking an assistant scientist to support the field, greenhouse, growth chamber, and laboratory activities of the canola breeding and research program. The individual will provide daily management of agronomic research plots, yield trials, breeding nurseries, self pollinations, crosses, and variety increases.
Research Assistant - Processing (Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory) Manhattan, Kansas
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applications for a Research Assistant. The personnel in this position will conduct test in the rabies laboratory including the performance of rabies antibody analyses on human and animal sera including serum neutralization and ELISA assays, the interpretation and reporting of serological and diagnostic results and maintaining the quality of test results. The person in this position will also assist with program operations including monitoring quality control data, accuracy of test result entry, SOP preparation and necessary updates.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and agronomy faculty to understand the operation of the newly developed NMR tool, provide feedback to the collaborators involved in designing the NMR tool, design appropriate experiments to measure sap-flow precisely at different growth stages and under different environmental conditions in growth chambers.
