The University Attending Veterinarian and CMG Director has the primary responsibility for providing veterinary clinical care and research support for animal research/teaching activities in KSU animal research facilities. Research Animal Supervisor Manhattan, Kansas
The purpose of the Research Animal Supervisor is to oversee and provide animal husbandry and care, assist investigators utilizing animals and ensure worker safety for animal-based research projects conducted by BRI at KSU, a biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) and biosafety level 3Ag (BSL3-Ag) biocontainment research facility. This individual will serve as a working supervisor and be responsible for maintaining the animal facility and necropsy areas of the BRI and ensuring normal day-to-day operations. In addition, this individual will be responsible for supervising animal delivery, carcass disposal, and sanitation of the food processing research areas of the BRI. This entails routine care of large animals (livestock) and small lab animals (rodents and rabbits) in BSL-3 and BSL3-Ag research projects, coordinating animal space use, assisting with technical procedures involving animals as required for research projects, decontaminating animal rooms and equipment, and removal and decontamination of animal wastes. This position will supervise BRI workers who may be temporarily assigned to these areas.

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Client Services Assistant. This position is to provide staff assistance for services through the Discharge/Emergency Desk in the KSU-Veterinary Health Center, including clerical and administrative support for the Director of Client Services. Hospital mission includes requirements of providing quality medical services to clients and training for professional veterinary students. Initial after-hours client contact with the KSU-VHC for emergency cases frequently occurs by phone or in person through this area. Client services must be provided in a professional manner, since first impression of service quality must be established at the time of initial contact to facilitate customer satisfaction, good will, and repeat customer business. Accurate and timely review of medical records is vital in our process of charging appropriately and consistently for services provided, and in a manner which provides clients accurate billing. This position will work 12pm-10pm, rotating days.

This position reports to the SNAP-Ed Regional Specialist.
