The University Registrar will manage all functions within the Office of the Registrar, including academic records, course enrollment and registration, course and classroom scheduling, degree audit and progress, graduation, publications and communications, transfer articulation, process grades, transcripts and certifications for enrollment, including certification of NCAA athletic eligibility. The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a Fellow (Post Doc) to work on field research activities related to sustainable agriculture and resilience of farming systems. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty from multiple departments in the College of Agriculture to advance research on aspects related to sustainable agriculture and resilience of farming systems in Kansas. Specific research areas will be related to conducting innovative research, data collection, interpretation and analysis of results and publishing. The goal of this program will be to investigate the effects of different management systems (crop, soil, water, nutrient, forage and livestock systems) on overall productivity, sustainability and resilience of farming systems. Assessment of contrasting farming systems, conventional “sustainably farmer-managed” versus “commercially implemented operations” practices, will be tested with the ultimate goal of learning about sustainability and resilience of farming systems utilizing large-scale and real farming conditions. The individual will be involved in high-quality metadata analyses including literature reviews, geospatial analysis, and integration of data science/analytics to inform research and product development. The successful candidate should have interest in contributing to outreach efforts of the College of Agriculture. Experience in multidisciplinary research and team building are critical components. The ability to communicate effectively, to provide leadership, to contribute to the land-grant mission of the University, and to relate to a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders is essential.

Numerical modeling techniques such as lattice-Boltzmann simulations have been successfully applied to better understand mechanisms and factors controlling fluid flow and transport in porous media.
