As a part of the work of Building Operational Excellence for a Next-Generation Land-Grant University and associated organizational changes, the office of Data, Assessment, and Institutional Research (DAIR) has assumed expanded roles and responsibilities in the areas of data warehouse design, implementation, maintenance and data management. DAIR is the steward of both the current (SQL Server) and the new cloud (Snowflake) data warehouse. This position is responsible for developing data design of conceptual, logical, and physical models in the data warehouses for business intelligence, analytics and application development. This position will work with data stewards and source system subject matter experts to understand the source systems that the data needs to be pulled from and into the data warehouses. This position will work on maintaining the existing data warehouse and development of the cloud data warehouse.

Sunflower District consists of Cheyenne, Sherman, and Wallace counties in northwest Kansas. Three agents, three office professionals, and a multi-county agronomist serve the district’s combined population of just over 10,000 people. This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources. Programming topics may include but are not limited to: livestock production; agricultural economics, management, and public policy; horticultural production and management; and natural resources conservation and environmental stewardship. Approximately 30% of the land in the district is grassland, primarily for cattle production. There are nearly 90,000 head of cow/calf and feedlot beef, which is the major livestock industry in the three-county area.
