About This Role:

Kansas Forest Service is hiring a term, full-time position that provides administrative support for the Wildland Fire Management and Accounting programs/functions.  Incumbent performs standard office operating procedures and applies knowledge of Kansas State University's and KFS's procedures to provide satisfactory customer service to KFS staff, the general public, fire departments and other state and federal agencies.  Assist in the administration and processing of grants, personnel  time and record keeping, travel reimbursements, etc. It will be highly encouraged to participate in out-of-state and in-state incidents to further experience, knowledge, and qualifications.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or professional experience in the area of incident business management, with NWCG qualification of Incident Business Advisor (IBA), Finance Section chief Type 3 (FSC3) or higher, or any other Finance Section qualification

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Valid driver’s license at time of hire
