About This Role:

The Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering and is looking for a new faculty member with a focus upon the construction management process with particular experience in an emphasis on computer-aided design/management of construction projects from the constructor's point of view.  In an effort to enhance and promote undergraduate education, the focus of any candidate should be on one or more of the areas of Architectural Graphics, Construction Documents, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Applied Construction Technologies.  As with all our faculty, the majority of time will be concentrated on students in the form of classroom instruction, advising, and service.  This position is primarily teaching at the undergraduate level, however, the candidate will be expected to pursue scholarly activities through integration, application, and creative inquiry of current and emerging technologies and practices.  The successful candidate will participate in student advising, working with student organizations, coaching student competition teams, and department development and promotion.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must demonstrate relevant professional experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry in the United States.
  • Candidates must have experience with applied building design/construction technology, including architectural/construction graphics with an emphasis on computer-aided design/management of construction projects from a constructor's point of view.
  • Candidates must have the necessary experience using REVIT, Navisworks, or similar IBM related technologies and/or other design/construction computer applications.
  • Candidates shall demonstrate involvement with the applied use of construction documents and processes.
  • Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be a strong communicator.  They must possess the ability to work effectively with faculty, students, staff, and industry.
  • Candidates must have five or more years of relevant full-time professional experience in a project management capacity in the United States construction industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction estimating/scheduling.
  • Undergraduate teaching experience in construction management or experience in conducting professional training (professional development) is desired.
  • An ability to integrate project work across multiple areas of building/infrastructure.
  • Has relevant professional registration, licensing or certifications.
  • A relevant Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Engineering along with significant experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
