About This Role:

Join our team to share great work being done by the College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension.

The Marketing Officer will be responsible for communicating and promoting the brand image of Kansas State University, the College of Agriculture, and K-State Research and Extension. This position will serve as the main point of contact for College of Agriculture and Cooperative Extension Service clients utilizing available service providers for marketing campaign planning and execution, news and communication services, writing and design services for publications such as brochures, posters, recruitment materials and other print products, social media strategy and assistance, websites and web content, photography, and video and animation services.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communication, or related field.
One to three years tactical marketing/branding experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in communications field.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop implementation plans with strong follow-through and measurable results.
  • Experience working in a communications and marketing agency or similar professional communications environment.
  • Experience in university environment, preferably a land-grant university.
  • Knowledge of current agricultural practices and the land grant mission.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring organizational brand(s) and ensuring branding consistency.
  • Experience with multi-platform communications, including video production and editing; audio production and editing; photography; desktop publishing using the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with social media tools, web design, blogging platforms, data reporting tools, analytics, keyword searching and search engine optimization (SEO).

Anticipated Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$42,930 - $55,000  $20.64-$26.44 per hour

Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, internal equity and departmental funding. Salary offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. The range indicated includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.
