About This Role:

The James R. Macdonald Laboratory at Kansas State University is hiring for three postdoc positions in the areas of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics.  The postdoc positions will work in coincidence ion and/or electron momentum imaging, femtosecond laser optics, strong-field physics and ultrafast laser-matter interactions, two-color and/or pump-probe experiments.

  • Develop coincidence momentum imaging techniques
  • Employ the above capabilities to study ultrafast molecular dynamics
  • Present the scientific results at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Physics, Physical Chemistry or a related field by the time position begins.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following experimental areas: Coincidence ion and/or electron momentum imaging; femtosecond laser optics; strong-field physics and ultrafast laser-matter interactions; two-color and/or pump-probe experiments.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$47,476 – $60,000 annual salary
