About This Role:

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a Research Technician to strengthen the capacity of the crop ecophysiology lab to extend findings from growth chambers and small field plots to test and apply the knowledge generated to make an impact at the agronomic scale and in the farmers' plots. The successful candidate will work across multiple crops primarily wheat and sorghum, in close collaboration with the other members of the crop ecophysiology lab and Topcon agronomy team.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience dealing with farm machinery, field experimentation, demonstrated working in a multi-cultural environment and with graduate students.
  • Excellent verbal communication.
  • Farm machinery use and moderate repair.
  • Extensive use of farm machinery and dealt with row crops.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Physical Activities and Work Conditions: Crouching/stooping, pulling/pushing, speaking, walking/running, sitting, twisting/bending, feeling/handling, climbing, standing, carrying, driving and reaching, squatting and writing. Environmental conditions: Normal office environment, traffic, dust/fumes, noise, electrical hazards, weather extremes and moving machinery/heavy equipment.
  • Valid driver's license upon employment
