About This Role:

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a Fellow (Post Doc) to take on a unique project designed to capture sap flow in sunflower stems using non-invasive NMR tool that will be designed by the engineering faculty, as a part of the newly funded NSF EAGER project. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and agronomy faculty to understand the operation of the newly developed NMR tool, provide feedback to the collaborators involved in designing the NMR tool, design appropriate experiments to measure sap-flow precisely at different growth stages and under different environmental conditions in growth chambers.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in agronomy, ag engineering, geosciences, civil engineering or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A combination of plant science experience couples with engineering background
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong quantitative background
