About This Role:

The Department of Finance in the College of Business at Kansas State University is seeking to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Finance beginning August 2020. Responsibilities include conducting and publishing academic research, teaching two courses per semester, and providing directed service for the Department of Finance and the Center for Principled Business

The Center for Principled Business engages in teaching and research activities that develop business leaders and enhance societal prosperity. Building on key strengths in the areas of entrepreneurship, business ethics, and economic education, the new center will offer academic programming and scholarship support for current K-State students, professional development and outreach activities for working professionals and K-12 students, and sponsor business research initiatives.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Finance or a closely-related field from an AACSB accredited Business School (or must be within 6 months of degree completion at the start of the contract)
  • Demonstrated potential for conducting high-quality research and publishing in high-quality journals in the Finance discipline
  • Demonstrated potential for high-quality teaching in the Finance area
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to the programming associated with the Center for Principled Business
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong research record as demonstrated through publications in top academic journals and presentations at national academic conferences
  • Prior university teaching experience in Finance with evidence of teaching success
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Related professional work experience
  • Ability and willingness to lead, develop or administer a program for the Center for Principled Business

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
