About This Role:

The Department of Grain Science and Industry and the IGP Institute is seeking applications for an Education Coordinator. This position is a full time, 12- month appointment, term contract, renewable annually. The primary objective is to manage the education needs based on the agenda provided by professional development teams across local, national and international organizations.

This collaborative position works closely with the external stakeholders including academic and industry partners during the development and delivery of professional credentials, non-credit courses and programs.

This position will provide service related to the course contributor management, course content collection plus formatting process and building material distribution platform. Frequent communication with domestic and international participants plus contributors is expected. Communication will be through email, phone or web conference platforms.

Essential Job Functions of Position:

65% - Course development

  • Build courses in the Learning Management System using export/import feature or manually building Modules based on course layout template
  • Build file structure in cloud storage platform such as OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.
  • Follow up with speakers and faculty to collect course materials
  • Collect and reformat education documents utilizing the appropriate template
  • Collect and reformat PowerPoints utilizing the appropriate template
  • Collect, store, and share education materials and related files
  • Coordinate interpretation and translation services, documents and scheduling
  • Share course agenda with course contributors
  • Manage individualized calendar invitations for course contributors
  • Manage calendar invitations for virtual attendance participants

10% - Course delivery

  • Troubleshoot participant course access issues and escalate as needed
  • Troubleshoot course technology issues and escalate as needed

20% - Course data management

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of education calendar
  • Collect, analyze, share and store lack of participant activity data
  • Ability to manage course attendance
  • Communicate completion status with participants in compliance with FERPA regulations
  • Collect, analyze, share and store completion files
  • Collect, analyze, share post course surveys

5% - Other Duties

  • Develop help guides for technology and processes, as needed
  • Ability to be certified as a van driver and to assist with transport of course participants
  • Respond, as deemed necessary, to fulfill other duties as assigned by the Distance Education Manager or Associate Director of IGP

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and four years’ relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years’ relevant experience or evidence of applicable micro-credentials
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in adult education, education, educational media, human resources, instructional design or similar; and two or more years’ experience producing education materials
  • Customer service oriented with ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence with investigating and troubleshooting technology issues
  • Experience using a variety of technology such as: Navigation of various Internet browsers, Canvas administrator role, web conferencing platforms, Qualtrics administrator, Microsoft Office Suite, Articulate, Camtasia, Mediasite, Dropbox
  • Higher than average skills with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to adjust project priorities based on technology issues and deadlines
  • Ability to operate audio and visual equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Appreciation and comfort interacting with international audiences and foreign cultures
  • Ability to speak English clearly and to work in a multi-cultural setting
  • Strong commitment to fostering and expanding diversity and collegiality
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Conversant in multiple languages
  • Knowledge of the university setting with awareness of policies and procedures

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$35,363.00 to $54,805.00 annually; $17.00 to $26.35 hourly
