About This Role:

The College of Business Administration is looking to hire a Finance Career Coach to work in the Student Success Center. The career coach will leverage industry-related experience and connections to provide individual guidance to College of Business Students as they evaluate career paths and pursue internship or full-time employment options. In collaboration with CBA faculty and other partners, career coaches provide an added level of support necessary to prepare business students for career success in a highly competitive environment. Career coaches also serve an important role to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with CBA employers to expand opportunities for current and future students. The career coach duties include:

  • Meet one-on-one with Finance students to provide guidance on career options, job search techniques, and professional contacts.
  • Participate in delivery of the Career Accelerator course and support other career development program activities.
  • Maintain active relationships with Finance department faculty to ensure career development needs are met for students in the program.
  • Support the Finance Scholars Program by assisting with the selection process, program management and attending student trips.
  • Assist with the organization of Finance Week activities and serve as co-advisor for the Student Finance Association.
  • Develop employer relationships and maintain database of available positions in various Finance industry segments.
  • Participate on committees and complete other projects as assigned by the program director.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree with a major or emphasis in Finance.
  • Five or more years professional experience in private sector employee recruitment, HR, or finance related experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office applications (Word; Excel; PowerPoint).
  • Commitment to understanding one's own experiences and perspectives as well as the experiences and perspectives of diverse others in an effort to cultivate strong relationships and collaboration.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to travel for purposes of developing employer relationships
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings and weekends) as needed
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$65,000 – $75,000 commensurate with experience
