About This Role:

The Office of Engagement at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, is seeking candidates for a Program/Project Manager I. The program/project manager role manages sponsored projects and relationships for the University Office of Engagement to enhance community engagement, engaged scholarly projects, and engaged learning. 

Position responsibilities:

Planning engaged projects with campus partners and community organizations. Organize project timelines, staffing, and resources for each program or sponsored project. This includes:

  • K-State President’s community visit initiative
    • Identify and match K-State faculty, students, and organizations that are in partnership with Kansas communities
    • Follow up with community partners identified at President’s community visits
  • Community engagement through grants and partnerships
    • Identify faculty members across campus who have interest in engaged scholarship
    • Take inventory of campus partners that secure sponsored projects for community engaged initiatives
    • Serve as a clearinghouse for university engaged projects – matching faculty to projects and grants with aligned interest
  • Faculty & Staff Development
    • Coordinate faculty and staff development opportunities regarding engaged scholarly activities
    • Develop and implement events that promote engaged scholarly activities
  • Engaged learning in curriculum
    • Develop understanding of service-learning needs on campus and organizations who can partner to create meaningful, purposeful working relationships
    • Track and measure engaged learning opportunities on campus to communicate broadly to showcase K-State's land grant mission
  • Coordinate communication efforts through formal communication and reporting to the office, campus partners and the larger community
  • Provide service to the Office, School, and University through serving on committees and other projects as assigned

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree
  • Three years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Written and Verbal Communication skills
  • Professional relationship building skills 
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented
  • Experience with community and/or industry partnerships
  • Experience partnering with teaching and learning initiatives
  • Familiarity with the grant funding process
  • Digital and print communications skills

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$65,000 - $75,000
