General Description of Position:

Engineering/Environmental Associate (environmental technician) assists specialists with work on various projects related to industrial environmental compliance, pollution prevention and energy efficiency.

Willing to consider part or full-time and remote work site.

Engineering Extension Department/Pollution Prevention Institute (PPI) is under the College of Engineering, KSU campus or satellite office.

Job Description:

Engineering Extension and the Pollution Prevention Institute administer various environmentally-related programs, including pollution prevention and the Kansas Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP), which provides environmental compliance technical assistance to businesses in Kansas. Technician will do various project support work including development of compliance assistance calendars and publications, data management, web editing and some field work with other specialists. 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma and two years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and strong interest in environmental science and issues. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills; excellent computer skills to include expertise with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and use of the Internet. Bachelor's degree in engineering or environmental studies and one-year experience in an industrial or educational environmental area.

Salary Range / Pay Rate:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications, beginning at $21.63-$26.44 per hour ($45,000.00-$55,000.00 annually).  Willing to consider part or full-time and remote work site.
