Tenure or Clinical Track Faculty Position in
Cardiology
Assistant, Associate or Full Professor
The Department of Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a faculty position (clinical or tenure track) in Cardiology at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor. Candidates need not elect a specific track at the time of application. The College of Veterinary Medicine and Department of Clinical Sciences is committed to the development and full support of a Cardiology service that will provide excellence in clinical and didactic teaching, clinical service, and scholarship and seeks individuals who share this vision. Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and have achieved ACVIM or ECVIM board certification in the specialty of Cardiology. Individuals eligible for board certification are also encouraged to apply.
Directed clinical service will include delivery of cardiology services to small, large, and exotic animal patients in the Veterinary Health Center. Teaching responsibilities include clinical and didactic instruction of veterinary students and house officers. The development of an ACVIM-approved residency training program is prioritized and encouraged as are opportunities for advanced training and the development of an interventional or surgical cardiology program. Scholarship activities are expected for all faculty, although expectations vary between clinical and tenure track appointments. The Department of Clinical Sciences recognizes that exceptional faculty scholarship may arise from clinical and teaching activities, as well as traditional independent and collaborative research programs.
Kansas State University is a land grant institution with a student population of approximately 21,000. Classes at the KSU College of Veterinary Medicine are composed of 117 students annually with a strong alumni and referral base that includes Kansas and neighboring states. Kansas State University is located in Manhattan, Kansas, with a population over 55,000 nestled in the scenic Flint Hills.
The starting date is negotiable. Professorial rank is based on academic experience and accomplishments commensurate with departmental guidelines for each academic rank. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications. Federal student loan repayment is negotiable.
