About This Role:

The Veterinary Health Center within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Large Animal Cleaning Technician. This position is responsible for providing normal operational activities associated with cleanliness and upkeep for the large animal area of the Veterinary Health Center. He/she will ensure animal stalls, animal holding pens and other areas that house large animals are kept clean and orderly. Other duties associated with monitoring/maintaining the physical and environmental conditions of the large animal section.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Organize and ensure the animal facilities cleanliness in Large Animal. Follow appropriate work assignments/practices for care and support services of cleaning and disinfecting the large animal sections of the Kansas State University Veterinary Health Center. Conduct cleaning in the ancillary areas throughout the Large Animal hospital, including the outside Bovine & Equine receiving area, large animal surgery and the drive-through area (I-70). Assure the ancillary space meets federal state and VHC standards for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Assist with Animal Care when needed; including feeding and watering animals, cleaning stalls and disinfecting, stocking supplies that meet the established KSU-VHC standards to provide quality care. Instruct veterinary students on cleaning and feeding procedures and assist them with where items are located. This may include helping to unload or transport animals.
• Other duties as assigned by KSU-VHC administration. Performance is periodically reviewed by supervisor for results achieved.

The schedule for this position will be 3:30pm – 12:00am with rotating on-call weekends.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$15.00 per hour plus shift differential
