About This Role:

This position offers the opportunity to work with a seasoned team of IT professionals and student workers. Kansas State Libraries IT Team serves a large, diverse department that provides high quality services to strengthen the experience at Kansas State University. Work projects provide opportunities to hone skills in design, development, and support of application software such as: Flask/Django based python applications, Drupal, Omni CMS, and other library centric software. Functions include investigating and evaluating user requirements while maintaining accessibility standards. Duties assigned to this position can include application requirement review, application development, system expansion and testing, and database design among other assignments.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience.  This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Server-side scripting experience (PHP or Python)
  • Software Engineering or closely related programming-focused degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to build web applications with the use of client-side technologies (such as HTML5, CSS3 or JavaScript).
  • Demonstrated ability to build using Responsive Web Design.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology skills.
  • Experience using Drupal or other CMS system
  • Experience with Flask / Django
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL)
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with some or all the following: PHP, Python, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, XML, JSON.
  • Experience using Restful API’s
  • Familiarly with containerized applications (Podman, Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Familiarity with version-control systems, such as Git.

$46,555-$60,008 annually
