About This Role:

This position is responsible for providing case management, consultation and crisis counseling.

Case Management/Referral Coordination:

  • Provide case management support including but not limited to facilitating referrals to longer term/specialized services and resources in the community for students with higher clinical needs. 
  • Collaborate with staff counselors to assist CAPS clients needing referrals to community mental health providers after session limit has been reached. 
  • May provide bridge care while the client connects to off campus provider 
  • Maintain & monitor documentation/care coordination 
  • Assist with expanding referral network of community mental health providers. 

Brief Consultation/Crisis Counseling:

  • Complete initial brief consultation for clients seeking counseling services 
  • Assess risk and safety, and stabilize clients 
  • Have knowledge regarding campus resources and provide appropriate referrals for clients

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy or any related mental health discipline. 
  • Experience providing crisis counseling.
  • Experience providing brief individual counseling.
  • Experience working in a university or college counseling center .
  • Experience providing case management/referral coordination.
  • Experience navigating complex systems; understanding community mental health treatment programs, knowledgeable about insurance coverage and terminology, and other basic need resources. 

Other Requirements:

  • Licensure by the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Board.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$23.077 - $25.000 hourly ($48,000.00 - $52,000.00 annually)
