About This Role:

The Department of Horticulture & Natural Resources is seeking a candidate to fill the role of Facility Coordinator to assist Greenhouse Operations and manage the IPM program in the Throckmorton Plant Complex.
The Facility Coordinator will:
- Assist with plant health care within the greenhouses of the Throckmorton Plant Complex through coordination and advice in arthropod pest scouting and management, disease management, plant nutrition, and environmental conditions.
- Coordinate health and safety compliance with greenhouse users.
- Provide support for greenhouse maintenance and assists users in managing the greenhouse environmental control systems for the Throckmorton Plant Sciences Greenhouse complex.
- Manage the central soil room.
- Work with faculty and staff in the Departments of Horticulture and Natural Resources, Agronomy, Plant Pathology and Entomology.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree
- Three years of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training in crop management and production, pest identification and appropriate controls including biological, and integrate pest management is highly encouraged
- Five years of greenhouse management/production preferred
- A background in the building trade and the ability to utilize a skid loader
- An education/working knowledge of greenhouse environmental conditions and how they affect plant growth, greenhouse pest identification and appropriate control strategies including biological controls, integrated pest management, and appropriate cultural conditions for greenhouse plant production
- Ability to read, write and understand and communicate in the English language
- :Ability to train and supervise student employees
- Excellent communication skills are essential
- Ability to communicate and assist co-workers, students, faculty and staff
- Organizational skills to maintain records and coordinate activities across four departments with many users
