About This Role:

The Applied Park Science Lab in the Park Management and Conservation program of the Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources is seeking a visitor use management or recreation ecology expert with experience conducting mixed methods research and GIS applications.

The candidate will contribute to three projects that include research for the National Park Service, United States Forest Service, and the United States Department of Agriculture. These projects feature visitor use management and recreation ecology research designs. The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved with designing research projects, data collection, analysis, developing manuscripts for publication, and leading a team of graduate students.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent required in visitor use management, recreation ecology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Quantitative data collection and analysis experience
  • Qualitative data collection and analysis experience
  • ArcGIS Pro proficiency
  • Soundscape monitoring experience

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
