The Kansas Forest Service is looking for a full-time, term position as the District Forester of a 10-county district in Southeast Kansas. This position is responsible for providing rural forestry technical assistance to owners and managers of the region's rural forest resources including forest land, woodlots, windbreaks, and shelterbelts. Duties include the responsibility to plan, develop and conduct a balanced full-service forestry program to meet the needs of the resource and clientele in a positive and professional manner. This position will also establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with federal, state and local natural resource agencies and organizations on forestry related programs. Incumbent conducts a full-service forestry program with limited direct supervision. Approximately 80% of the time will be spent in the field, travel is routine with occasional overnight travel for special duties and training. Inclement weather on occasion but at the decision of the incumbent. The office location of this position is in Parsons, KS.

Veterinary Assistant - Shelter Medicine Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Department of Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a Veterinary Assistant in Shelter Medicine. This position provides veterinary technical assistance for fourth year student instruction for the mobile spay/neuter trailer. The mobile surgical unit is a program that provides spay/neuter services and basic care for shelter animals maintained at facilities without a veterinarian or surgical facilities. The shelter medicine rotation is an elective course. Approximately 90 senior veterinary students will participate each year and approximately 4500 animals will be surgically altered annually. The shelter medicine assistant is responsible for surgical preparation, anesthetic induction/monitoring, intra-operative assistance, and immediate postoperative care for shelter animals on location at regional facilities. This position is also responsible for coordination of activities with regional shelters, medical records, and oversight for stock and cleaning of the mobile surgery unit.

Clinical Pathology Locum Instructor Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL) is seeking board certified or residency-trained clinical pathologists to provide locum support between August 2024-August 2025. Scheduling within these dates will be flexible with a preference for 1 to 2 week blocks. Longer locums will be considered. The locum will be responsible for review of cytology samples, secondary review of select hematology cases, and consultation on clinical chemistry, urinalysis, and serum protein electrophoresis, as needed. We utilize weeknight and weekend digital pathology service for cases submitted after hours. The KSVDL clinical pathology diagnostic service is supported by a high quality, high volume, and diverse case load with submissions from within the teaching hospital and from outside practices, a well-equipped laboratory, and a significant oncology and infectious disease caseload. The Clinical Pathology Section maintains strong and active interactions with the other sections in the Kansas State Veterinary Health Center. The university is located in sunny Manhattan, KS with numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, restaurants, and sporting events. Kansas City is approximately 2 hours by car.
