Veterinary Nurse (Ophthalmology) Manhattan, Kansas
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Veterinary Nurse in Ophthalmology. A primary mission of the Hospital is to provide quality medical services for teaching, research and clients within the surrounding area. The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a full-time Assistant Scientist to coordinate field and laboratory activities within the Wheat and Forage Extension program. This individual will organize and coordinate schedule of activities, including coordination of interns and visiting scholars, performance of field activities related to sowing, managing, and harvesting research plots. Other duties include: Organization, coordination and performance of agronomic sample collection from the field and processing in the lab to be performed from a variety of studies looking at different fertilizer managements and agronomic practices. Fellow (Post Doc) (Computational Toxicology and Pharmacokinetic Modeling) Manhattan, Kansas
The Institute of Computational Comparative Medicine (ICCM) and Department of Anatomy and Physiology within College of Veterinary Medicine are seeking applicants for a Fellow (Post Doc) to work in the Computational Toxicology and Pharmacokinetic Modeling Laboratory with Dr. Zhoumeng Lin. The incumbent to this position will develop computational pharmacology and toxicology models to address food safety and risk assessment issues. The computational models could be physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK), population-based nonlinear mixed effects pharmacokinetic (PopPK), pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD), quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) models, or other related models. The candidate is encouraged to incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning methods to build robust models. We also encourage to link the computational models to toxicogenomics and adverse outcome pathways to provide insights into the mechanism of pharmacokinetics and toxicokinetics of drugs, environmental chemicals, and nanoparticles.

The incumbent has the responsibility of developing and performing laboratory experiments using Illumina and Nanpore next generation sequencing platforms. Research Technician - Temporary (Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory) Manhattan, Kansas
This is an a temporary position in the histology and immunohistochemistry laboratory. The laboratory will have two employees on extended leave during the same 6-8 week time period. There is routine work that includes data entry, sorting blocks/ slides, tissue disposal, paperwork, and entering workload data that will be challenging to keep up with. This is also during Deer hunting season when there is a sharp increase in testing volume for the CWD IHC. In addition, help is needed with routine laboratory tasks such as making buffers/chemicals, trimming, equipment maintenance, and microtomy. Assays will be performed in accordance with those QA/QC guidelines of an AAVLD accredited laboratory. Significant attention must be given to the KSVDL QMS (Quality Management System) and subsequent compliance.
