Extension Nutritional Assistant (Shawnee County) Other
The Extension Nutritional Assistant will provide nutrition education to low-income families with young children and youth as part of the goals and objectives of the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. This position provides nutrition education to enrolled families and youth on a daily basis and tailors the content to suit the needs of each client. The position requires strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively recruit and retain program participants and develop collaborative partnerships with community agencies. The Extension Nutritional Assistant reports to the Shawnee County EFNEP/SNAP-Ed Agent.
Veterinary Nurse (Anesthesiology) Manhattan, Kansas
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) with the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Veterinary Nurse. This position is responsible for providing technical services to the Anesthesiology Section in the VHC. A primary mission of the Hospital is to provide quality medical services for teaching, research and clients within the surrounding area. Quality, professional technical representation in the Anesthesia Section is critical to providing services to support this mission. Lastly, this position is responsible for coordination of animal treatments, instruct, train and supervise students and employees in approved treatment technique.

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Veterinary Nurse in Ophthalmology. A primary mission of the Hospital is to provide quality medical services for teaching, research and clients within the surrounding area. Quality, professional technical representation in the Ophthalmology Section is critical to providing services to support this mission. This position is structured to perform all technical aspects associated with providing quality ophthalmology services to clients of the KSU-VHC. The nurse in this position also has a large role in teaching various ophthalmology techniques to students and other employees of the VHC. This position is also responsible for coordination of animal treatments; instruct, train and supervise students and employees in approved treatment technique. This position is expected to demonstrate behavior that is conducive to harmonious working relationships with peers, subordinates, and supervisors.

The Extension Nutritional Assistant position serves to meet the Kansas Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) mission of empowering low-income Kansans using evidence-based strategies to achieve healthy lives and reduce health disparities. Specific strategies include direct education in various settings, community-based projects to address policy, system or environmental changes and public health approaches to help children, families, and adults improve dietary quality and food resource management skills and increase physical activity. The Nutrition Assistant reports to the Northeast Region SNAP-Ed Specialist.

Post Rock District Family Resource Management Extension Agent Other
Post Rock District is comprised of Jewell, Lincoln, Mitchell, Osborne, and Smith counties in north-central Kansas. Six extension agents serve this district, which has a combined population of 16,997. This position will extend the mission of K-State Research and Extension Family and Consumer Sciences with a focus on family resource management. Extension agents are community based faculty of Kansas State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. Agents are administratively responsible to the local extension director and the local extension board. This position will provide primary leadership for the development and implementation of research-based educational programming to support successful families and the systems that serve them in communities. Programs may include but are not limited to: financial planning and management, Medicare and insurance education, consumer decision-making, lifestyle and business transition planning, entrepreneurship, and home management to promote independent living.

This position exists to provide centralized human resource support, guidance, and administration for the five departments housed in Umberger Hall and four departments in Waters Hall. The incumbent serves as the initial contact for questions related to federal, state, and university human resource policies and guidelines for managers and supervisors in the departments. This position, as a representative of Kansas State University and K- State Research & Extension, will provide assistance to Kansas communities, farmers markets and possibly to grocery stores in our DUFB program coverage area (all of Kansas, other than the Kansas City and Wichita metro areas) to ensure that local sites are implementing the DUFB program and reporting their data correctly. The person in this position will assist local sites in getting started in the program, will oversee program compliance and will also ensure that the work of this project is well coordinated with other ongoing KSRE efforts (SNAP-Ed, developing local produce growers, etc). Research Assistant (Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory) Manhattan, Kansas
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant. The personnel in this position will conduct test in the rabies laboratory including the performance of rabies antibody analyses on human and animal sera including serum neutralization and ELISA assays, the interpretation and reporting of serological and diagnostic results and maintaining the quality of test results. The person in this position will also assist with program operations including monitoring quality control data, accuracy of test result entry, SOP preparation and necessary updates.
