Harper County 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent Other On-site requirement
Harper County is located in south-central Kansas. It consists of five communities with a population of approximately 5,300 people and is home to two school districts. The current Harper County Extension staff includes an agriculture and natural resources agent and a part-time office professional. This position’s primary responsibility will be leading the county’s 4-H youth development program and, secondarily, providing community vitality programming. Harper County’s 4-H program has an average of 130 members each year with five active clubs.
Meade County Family and Community Wellness Extension Agent Other On-site requirement

Reno County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent Other On-site requirement
Reno County, with a population of 61,516, covers 1,254 square miles in south-central Kansas. Hutchinson is the county seat and home to Hutchinson Community College. It is one of the largest agriculture-producing counties in the state and ranks #1 in the number of farms (1,552) and #3 in the number of acres in production (788,966). There is a growing interest in small acreage homesteading. Reno County 4-H also has a very active livestock program. This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources. Programming may include but is not limited to: agronomy; livestock production; agricultural economics, management, and public policy; small-scale farming and homesteading; and natural resources conservation and environmental stewardship.
Lyon County 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent Other On-site requirement
Lyon County is situated on the eastern side of the Flint Hills, adjacent to the Kansas Turnpike and Interstate 35. There are currently eight community 4-H clubs in Lyon County with approximately 300 members as well as an established Cloverbud program. This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive 4-H youth development program for school-aged youth in cooperation with local community members and extension colleagues. Programming will include but is not limited to: community club support, out-of-school programs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and outreach to create program opportunities with new and existing community partners.
