The Department of Anatomy and Physiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a full time, 12-month, Post-Doctoral Fellow position. This postdoctoral fellow will supervise research related to investigation funded by NIH R01HL166591 entitled, Role of Adiponectin in Reversal of Age-related Vascular Dysfunction. This fellow will participate in execution of all aspects of this research project. This fellow will oversee isolated arteriolar experiments, immunohistochemical assays, and data collection and analysis. This fellow will also contribute to presentation of data and writing of manuscripts.

Farm manager has latitude to schedule labor and inputs to meet objectives of research/production and provides continuing or individual assignments by indicating generally what must be done, limitations, quality and quantity expectations, deadlines, and priority of assignments. The supervising faculty provide additional, specific instructions for new, difficult, or unusual assignments including suggested work methods. The employee uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction or close supervision, but refers deviations, problems, and unfamiliar situations not covered by instructions or experience to the supervising faculty for decision or help. The supervisor assures that finished work and methods used are those desired. Review of work depends on complexity of the task and incumbent’s familiarity with the task.

This position is the manager/supervisor of the Student Services unit within the Office of the Registrar and utilizes a teamwork approach to ensure that the Office is providing quality service while adhering to University policies and procedures. The student services unit is responsible for FERPA, transcripts, graduation, commencement, NCAA eligibility, major changes, enrollment transactions, and other academic record functions. Each of these tasks are vital to university stakeholders and timely completion of services by the unit is important to student success. This position assists with the resolution of complex issues related to students' academic permanent records and student services; coordinates daily tasks of the area; and serves as the primary liaison between the office and academic community. Assists the Assistant Registrar for Student Services in planning and implementing improvements to the area, both with business processes and technological enhancements. This position is also responsible for the planning of university commencement ceremonies, with the assistance of stakeholders throughout the university. As Chair of the Commencement Committee, this position is required to attend commencement ceremonies, each Spring and Fall semester in Manhattan and Salina, which occur on Friday and Saturday. Must have a desire to work within a high-pace work environment and have the ability to prioritize competing tasks when necessary. Successful candidates should possess experience within higher education, specifically working with a student information system and/or other educational technologies.
