The Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) team, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire an Office Specialist II to provide specialized administrative support to a grant-funded, statewide professional development project in the area of childcare and education that focuses on individuals and programs serving children aged birth to thirteen years. This position will be responsible for managing customer communications and will serve as the lead for customer service interactions related to KCCTO services. This position will report to KCCTO’s Outreach and Engagement Program Coordinator.
Biosafety Animal Technician Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This individual will assist the supervisory Animal Health Officer with broad support and coordination of activities associated with infectious disease research and food security studies. Responsibilities include waste management, decontamination, adherence to animal welfare regulations, assisting research teams in project planning and operational logistics, and training research staff on procedures, protocols and equipment operation. Duties include report generation, database inputs and user interface, work with large animals (livestock) and small lab animals (rodents and rabbits) in BSL-3 and ABSL3-Ag research projects, assisting with coordinating animal space use, assisting with technical procedures involving animals as required for research projects, decontaminating spaces and equipment and equipment with specialized technologies, and removal and decontamination of waste via alkaline hydrolysis tissue digestion equipment and autoclave sterilization. Position also supports necessary coordination for unique biocontainment areas used in food safety and security studies. Position requires evening/night, weekend, and/or holiday swing shifts as well as a variable on-call schedule as required to provide 7 days/week, 365 days/year animal care coverage.

This position plans, organizes, directs, and controls technical work in the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit of the KSU-VHC during an established shift. Employee maintains equipment and supply status in the SA-ICU area and is responsible for assisting clinicians and senior veterinary students as they provide critical care to client cases in this work area. Responsible for overseeing the cleanliness of the work area, supervising the primary care of critical patients, and ensuring that supplies are not outdated. Monitors medical records and ICU orders of patients for completeness, accuracy, and financial accountability. This position is also responsible for the coordination of animal treatments. Instruct, train, and supervise students and employees in approved treatment techniques.

The Community Coordinator (anticipated vacancies) provides leadership and supervision for a multicultural population of 250 to 650 students within the residence halls or the Jardine Apartments. The coordinator’s primary function is to direct and oversee the operations of residential communities. This position may involve the staffing and supervision of 5-18 resident assistants or residential learning assistants and 0-3 graduate assistant coordinators. The CC is the primary leader within their community for student conduct proceedings and student success and retention initiatives. The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking applicants for an Events Director who will be responsible for the development and execution of all events hosted at the College level for the CVM, including several high-profile and annual events. This position coordinates all aspects of the events, evaluates their effectiveness and reports to the Dean and Assistant Dean to ensure the events implemented align with the College’s strategic event plan. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the management of best practices for event space usage.
